Grainwell Market wants to showcase other local makers, teach them, learn from them, and even offer workshops to the public.

According to Michele Kim, Head of Marketing and Sales at Grainwell Market, the store is a home and gift marketplace offering workshops and other events located in the heart of Covington, Kentucky.

“Grainwell Market carries the entire Grainwell collection as well as other brands and designers the three sisters of Grainwell handpicked and love,” she says.

The Market, which officially opened on October 21, was inspired after the sisters who founded its parent company, Grainwell. The team behind the business started going to local flea markets like City Flea and were inspired by other local makers, designers, and artists.

“We saw how much creativity there is and how other products complement ours,” explains Kim. “The inspiration for Grainwell Market comes from the community of makers around Grainwell. We are inspired by creative design, genuine products, and handmade goods.”

Grainwell Market carries more than just the products made by Grainwell, it also carries items that are made by those in the Tri-State community. “We wanted to pick some of our favorite items to showcase to our customers and items that could be purchased alongside Grainwell products to give as a gift or keep for yourself,” says Kim.

Items at Grainwell Market vary in price as much as they do in the type of product. Kim says there’s something for someone who wants to spend less than $10 and items for people who want to go all the way up to $100. “We sell gifts for truly every occasion and every budget,” she adds.

Aside from the number of products offered in store, as well as its offerings of products from other local makers, Grainwell Market aims to highlight specific artists each month.

“We have a section of the Market dedicated to the ‘Maker of the Month,'” says Kim. “After each month we hope to give the opportunity to carry the artist or maker’s products in our store. If needed or requested, we will help mentor them in the wholesale side of business and teach them things we have learned along the way – and we hope to learn aspects from different makers as well!”

Kim says the Market is unique in that it has dual storefronts at its location at 33 W Pike Street in Covington. There are also neighboring businesses such as Braxton, the Hannaford, and Handzy, and the team is looking forward to many more opening over the next year.

While the ladies behind Grainwell Market are currently planning their events schedule for 2018, there are a few more events you can see them at this year, including Shop Small Saturday on November 29 and their Holiday Open House on December 2.
