Summertime is here. For millions of Americans, that means it’s time to hit the open road. Fly the friendly skies. Or just do – nothing. Whether it’s a road trip with the guys, a romantic island getaway with your sweetheart, or an in-town “staycation” with the family – this month’s issue of Cincinnati Profile presents you with a plethora of options for gettin’ your summer on.
Getaways with the guys don’t have to end up like the Hangover. Amy Scalia invites you to explore your inner “City Slicker” as she introduces us to the “mancation.” Plus, no matter where your travels take you this summer, 5chw4r7z has some tips to help you travel (and save) like a local. Will Chambers trades the sportscoat for an oar and a six-pack as he explores the art of “cabrewing.” And our technology contributor Matthew Dooley examines the delicate balance between working vacations and falling off the grid. Plus, we’re very excited to have our new financial columnists, Daniel Kiley and Matthew Swendiman with Retirement Corporation of America, climbing aboard to keep your money on the right track.
Of course, every summer excursion needs a soundtrack: Dave Davis hits the road with local reggae/ska favorites The Pinstripes. And Carwash has a recap of this year’s Spring Chicken Road Rally – a precursor to the Rooster Challenge later this year.
Whether you’re staying in the Greater Cincinnati area, flying across the country or overseas, or just driving as far as you can on a single tank of gas, enjoy yourself. We all work way too hard not to treat ourselves to a little R&R now and then. As someone who recently took his wife’s own advice and kicked back in Vegas for a few days (I was working, by the way – as I direct you to Mr. Dooley’s well-written article on the subject), I can tell you – it works wonders. So kick back, relax, and enjoy this month’s issue. And don’t forget to click the link above to subscribe today! It’s free – and you just might win an iPad to take Cincinnati Profile with you wherever your summer travel plans may take you.
Thank you for your continued support.
