Up to this point, this automotive column has been dedicated to quick and easy tips for you readers, regarding everything from gift purchasing to how to keep your interior clean in winter.  While that sort of information is interesting and very helpful, let’s admit it: it’s boring.  This column is about cars, and for the most part, from here on out, that’s what we’re going to talk about.  From this point on, I will do my best to make sure every month includes a fairly in-depth review of a new-to-the-market car.  We will do our best to find a car that readers haven’t heard a lot about yet.  My hope is to bring it to you in a format that is fun to read, and provides some detail that you wouldn’t normally get in your run-of-the-mill auto magazine.

I will try to review this new car from the viewpoint of the “real’ car buyer – someone who is looking to purchase the car, and wants to know more than a typical BS-filled magazine review might offer you. I’ll offer some insight into the little details and nuances that allow you to really get to know the car, and urge you to head out and get behind the wheel yourself. If you’re shopping for a vehicle, your own personal test drive is the only true way to get to know a vehicle; and it’s next to impossible to test drive every car out there.  Also, a typical 10-minute test drive at the dealership doesn’t allow enough time to explore every facet of the car, or provide enough information to make an educated purchasing decision.

Look for classic, exotic, collector car reviews, too!

That’s where I come in. I’ll provide as much information I can, so that you can make the best decision. I will also make myself available via e-mail after each review, in case you have any further questions regarding items not covered in the article.

What if you aren’t in the market to buy a new car? What is there for you? Well, how about this: in addition to reasonably-priced, attainable car reviews, I will mix it up with classic/muscle/exotic car reviews. I’m talking about cars that most of us will never have the chance to own, or even drive around the block. These are the cars that gear heads dream about; the auto equivalent of the Holy Grail – the completely unattainable.  I will review these cars in the same manner that I review new cars, as if we were going to buy them.  Should make for an interesting mix of things.

So, stay tuned for next month. We’re going to have some fun. If you have any requests for cars, new or old, to review, please shoot me an e-mail and I will see what I can do.  If you have an exotic, or classic muscle car to lend for a day or two to review and showcase here, shoot me a note and let me know.
