Want to look and feel your best this holiday season, and beyond? Corwyn Thomas, founder of Corwyn Apparel and COO of Krimson by Kwame (as in Kwame Jackson from “The Apprentice”), offers up these “Ten Commandments of Style.”
1.   Honor the basic navy pinstripe two-button business suit with side vents above all other suits.
remember: navy is “European classic” and “American traditional,” gray is casual and cool, and black lends itself to “formal” with a hint of “executive power.”
2.   Remember the white shirt is the preferred shirt of a serious businessman.
White is professional and clean; French Blue is calming; other colors/patterns express a strong degree of personal style. As for the cuff: the square French cuff is the “cuff of choice” for today’s working professional aspiring to be tomorrow’s millionaire.
3.   Thou shall never wear a necktie with a button-down collar shirt
A button-down collar loses it form when worn with a tie. A sloppy look to all audiences – don’t be tacky! When in doubt, go for the traditional “pinpoint” collar. When you know better, hit them with the European “medium spread” Wall Street broker collar.
4.   You should always wear a T-shirt under a dress shirt to prevent visible perspiration.
Remember: “Never let them see you sweat!” You can never have too many t-shirts, v-neck or crew cut.

5.   Honor handmade, 100% imported silk ties above all others.
Look for a superior lining for thickness, and great color/pattern combinations for all occasions.
6.   When selecting tie patterns, choose the right tie for the right guy.
Pin dots and/or repeating stripes are subtle and conservative. Intermediate users should opt for small designs, geometrics, and window panes to add a splash of color and a degree of personal style. Advanced users should incorporate paisleys, bubbles and florals. These are for the true “Tie Guy” connoisseur.
7.   Thou shalt only wear a fragrance that attracts the woman of your Dreams!
If she smiles and compliments you, that’s the scent for you! Try different scents for different seasons.
8.   Always know the time.
Every man should own a watch that compliments his personality and wardrobe. I personally like the Rolex Oyster Perpetual. Other favorites are Gucci, Movado, and the Omega “James Bond.”
9.   Thou shalt never wear a brown belt with black shoes.
Favorite belts: Tommy Bahama, Boss, Trafalga, D&G, and Diesel. Favorite shoes: wing-tipped lace ups from Johnston & Murphy, Cole Haan, Donald J. Pliner, Magnanni, and Allen Edmonds.
10.   Remember the Titans.
Don’t forget the icons of style: Rock Hudson, Robert Redford, Johnny Carson, and Hugh Hefner. Dress for the occasion. Remember what you’ve learned, so you can bring the heat with a new European-cut suit, French cuffed shirt, necktie, and sexy pocket square. Remember a matching belt, socks, shoes, “real man” timepiece, and personalized fragrance. Now you’re good to go.
